About Akumal Vacations cookies
You must have cookies enabled in your browser in order to use all the features of the Akumal Vacations web site.
What is a cookie?
A "cookie" is a small piece of information which a web server can store temporarily with your web browser. This is useful for having your browser remember some specific information which the web server can later retrieve.
As you browse the web, cookies are stored in your computer's memory. When you close your browser, this cookie is written to a cookie file on your computur so it may be reloaded next time you visit our web site.
A cookie file is not a secret way for Akumal Vacations to find out everything about you and what you have on your hard drive. The only private information we save in your cookie file is the information you explicitly give to Akumal Vacations on the contact form. Each cookie is marked with information about what web site it's for. There is no way for another, different web server to get access to this private information about you or your system through a Akumal Vacations cookie. There is no possible way that a virus could be spread through the use of cookies.
How Akumal Vacations uses cookies.
Akumal Vacations uses this cookie file to remember basic information about our customers (e.g. your name and address) and to auto-fill your reservations inquiry form with the information, saving you re-typing it each time you use the form. We also use a cookie to build a list of vacation properties in your inquiry. For example, if you inquire on 3 properties, you have to fill-out the form 3 times. This can be quite time consuming. And because Akumal Vacations must handle 3 separate contacts from you on just one vacation plan, it may slow our response time as well. Any changes you make to your contact information on the form will be updated in the cookie and saved for future use. The property list is cleared 20 minutes after you have completed the reservation inquiry form.
